Animals

I have been thinking about what animals bring us. I have been lucky enough to know a good number of animals in my life. I am focusing on Fisher, Ollie, Lovely and George.
Fisher was a cute little ginger female rescue cat who came to live with me when I bought my house. She was fierce and friendly in turn. Her message was, 'don't mess with me but if you treat me well you will discover my lovely side.' She taught me to be independent and determined.
Ollie was my rascal. He was a Jack Russel-Whippet cross. He enjoyed life to the max and taught me not to take life too seriously. He accepted me exactly as I am and that helped me to believe in myself.
Lovely lives with Graham. She is a friendly and funny dog when you get to know her. She is grateful for the small things in life such as regular food and a comfortable sofa! She has also taught me to be unselfish. Much as I would love her to live with me all the time, at this point in my life my circumstances don't lend themselves to having a dog. I work, and the commute adds to the time I am away from home. Lovely is better off living with Graham and the boys. ( 2 dogs)
George came to live with me for a while around 8 years ago. He went to live with my daughter and stayed with her until recently. George has recently started living with me again. I am finding him funny, friendly and relaxed. He is a great character and companion.
I learn so much about life and myself by being around animals and am grateful to have them in my life.
